NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, February 12
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Victor Wembanyama – I’m not sure what he needs to do to get a bump in price on DraftKings ($8,900). He has topped 49 fantasy points in 9 of his last 10 games. The Raptors were a tough matchup earlier in the season but are 23rd in defensive rating over the last 10 games. He’s projecting for only 12% ownership on DraftKings despite the cheap price point. On FanDuel (which rewards blocks and steals more than DraftKings), he’s projecting for less than 2% ownership. I think the Spurs can win this game, so I expect Wemby to see his full allotment of minutes.
TheLuuch: Zion Williamson – He has been quietly playing great basketball lately. He took a night off on the second leg of a back-to-back recently, but he posted 46+ DraftKings points in 3 of his 4 February games. The lone “dud” was a game in which he only played 21 minutes, and he still scored 28.75 fantasy points. The biggest takeaway is that we saw him play 35 minutes in 2 of those 4 games. He’s only logged 35+ in 5 games this season. Maybe he’s finally unleashed, especially if the game stays close tonight.
eys819: Miles Bridges – He has been playing big minutes for the Hornets and gets a great matchup against the Pacers, who rank 2nd in pace and 26th in defensive rating. Charlotte shook up the roster over the past few weeks, dealing away Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, and PJ Washington. Bridges should continue to lead the team in usage while LaMelo Ball remains out and has massive upside given the matchup, yet his pOWN% is sitting comfortably under 10% on both sites.
TastefulTides: Myles Turner – He is a better tournament play on FanDuel, where he is more expensive and is projected for less ownership. That being said, I don’t think he gets steamed too heavily on DK, where we currently have him projected for around 20% ownership. Charlotte ranks dead last in defensive rating, so getting to at least one piece on Indiana is important. Charlotte really struggles to defend centers and is also 27th in rebounding percentage.
