NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, March 11

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Brandon Miller – I might be skirting the rules a bit since he has an ownership projection of 20%, but I expect most to employ a stars-and-scrubs type of build tonight. This could lead to the mid-range getting overlooked. The Hornets are expected to be without LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, Seth Curry, Cody Martin, Bryce McGowens, and Tre Mann. They draw an elite matchup against the Pistons. This feels like a prime breakout spot for the talented rookie, who has topped 30 fantasy points in 5 straight games.

squirrelpatrol: Jordan Nwora / Payton Pritchard – We now have some clarity on the injury situations for Toronto and Boston, but we don’t have starting lineups. Javon Freeman-Liberty and Sam Hauser are the projected starters, but the actual starting lineups could be different, and the starters could end up getting outscored for fantasy production by the bench. With Pritchard and Nwora, we get multi-position eligibility and high fantasy-point-per-minute production at guard and forward that we can mix-and-match depending on the starting lineups for the later games.

eys819: Luka Doncic – If more value opens up prior to lock, he probably ends up more popular than his current pOWN%, which is currently around 10% on both sites. I am hoping we don’t get Boston injury news prior to the DAL/CHI game at 8 PM ET, which should leave Luka far less owned than he otherwise would be if we have value open up. Luka has been on a ridiculous run of triple-doubles, and I want exposure on every slate regardless of the price and matchup.

TastefulTides: Cade Cunningham – It doesn’t seem possible, but the Pistons are actually favored in an NBA basketball game. With LaMelo Ball hurt and Terry Rozier no longer with the club, the Hornets don’t play at the fast pace that they have in the past, but they are still one of the worst defenses in the NBA. Cade was a rebound shy of a triple-double in his last game against the Mavericks. I think this is another tremendous matchup where he can really fill up the stat sheet. He is currently projected for around 15% ownership on both sites, so I don’t think he will go over-owned.
