NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, March 25
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Cam Thomas – Trusting the Nets is never fun, especially on a large slate like this one. However, there are few players on this slate that could realistically score 50+ real-life points, and Thomas is one of them. The Nets are without Ben Simmons, Cam Johnson, and Dennis Smith tonight. They have an elite matchup against the Raptors, who are 1st in pace and 26th in defensive rating over the last 10 games.
tcsmith031: Nikola Jokic – This is a bit complicated with Jokic carrying a questionable tag, but if he plays, he’s going to go completely overlooked on a slate that appears to have loads of value at the center position. While I will be playing Luka Doncic in plenty of lineups, I’m happy to take the savings with Jokic as a pivot in tournament builds if he’s going to be pulling a fraction of the ownership. It’s easy to forget that the two-time MVP is still averaging a sparkling 1.76 DK FP/minute on the season.
eys819: Coby White – White returned from a brief injury to face two of the tougher matchups in the league, Houston and Boston. He played just 29 minutes in his first game back but was up to 35 minutes in his last game. He should be pretty close to a full-go here, which could mean playing time approaching 40 minutes. He gets the best matchup in the league against Washington and is currently sitting under 5% pOWN% on both sites.
TastefulTides: Jalen Green – He continues to dominate the usage in the absence of Alperen Sengun. He has 5 straight games with 20 or more field goal attempts. His peripherals aren’t anything to write home about, and that is what keeps his overall projection on the lower end. I still think that if he is going to shoot at this high of a volume, we need to keep rostering him in any format. The matchup is also very good, with the Trail Blazers ranking 23rd in defensive rating.
