NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, March 4
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Taylor Hendricks – Everyone else in this game is getting a ton of attention, yet we have Hendricks projected for 17% ownership on FanDuel and 13% ownership on DraftKings. It wasn’t that long ago when everyone was scrambling to play him when he was announced as the starter. He’s a little more expensive now, but the Jazz are playing at home against the Wizards and have already ruled out Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler. I could see Hendricks being super-efficient in this game. If that happens, I like his chances of playing 30+ minutes.
squirrelpatrol: Jordan Poole – Poole’s move to the bench has benefited Poole himself, with more shots available for the Wizards guard coming in with the second unit. Since moving to the bench, Pooled has averaged 22 points per game on 19.2 field goal attempts, compared to his season averages of 16.3 points on 14.6 field goal attempts. This game has a high total and will likely be played at a fast pace, and Poole hasn’t been shy about taking shots, particularly since he moved to the bench.
eys819: Kawhi Leonard – This is a nice pace-up spot for the Clippers against the Bucks. The game should be closely contested with a matchup of two of the better teams in the league. The back-to-back for Kawhi is a little concerning, but he has performed well in such situations this season. He has been the Clippers most consistent performer this season and they will need a big game from him to upset the Bucks at home.
TastefulTides: Coby White – He is my favorite contrarian option, but he is only available on the DK slate. He likely won’t be super low-owned, but he could come in lower-owned than the chalky Jazz guards. White is projected to play 38 minutes and attempt 18 shots. The Kings struggle to defend the 3-point line, allowing the 8th-most 3-pointers per game. If White can find his rhythm in this game, then he should absolutely crush his $7,300 price tag.
