NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, January 7

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

tcsmith031: In 3 games since donning Raptors red, Immanuel Quickley is sporting a 25.3% usage rate alongside a 22.5% assist rate. He’s also averaging nearly 33 minutes per game in his starting role, which is up considerably from the 24 minutes he averaged off the bench for the Knicks.

Krayton: Domantas Sabonis is averaging 1.45 FP/minute, and his teammate, De’Aaron Fox, is averaging 1.36 FP/minute. Fox is leading the team in usage at 32%, and both Fox and Sabonis are projecting for fairly low ownership with the Kings carrying a 119.5 implied team total at home.

TastefulTides: In 378 minutes with Franz Wagner off the court, Paolo Banchero sees an increase in usage of 4.3%. That brings his usage well over the 30% clip. He should crush this Atlanta team that is 28th in defensive rating and 5th in pace.

TJ Zwarych: The Kings have an implied total that is 2 points more than their season average and the 3rd-highest on the slate. They don’t have a single player projecting for more than 15% ownership on FanDuel or DraftKings.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
