NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 14

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Nikola Vucevic – Due to the lack of options at center on FanDuel, Vucevic is garnering some ownership (18% pOWN) over there. However, he’s getting overlooked on DraftKings (7% pOWN). The Bulls have a mediocre matchup at home against the Clippers but will be without Coby White and Zach LaVine. With those two off the floor this season, Vucevic has averaged 1.29 DK / 1.26 FD points per minute. If he’s going to be low-owned tonight, he’ll make for an excellent tournament play.

squirrelpatrol: Giannis Antetokounmpo – The MIL/PHI game could get overlooked with major injury situations in other places, but Giannis is always capable of breaking a slate and is projected for under 20% ownership on FanDuel and 10% on DraftKings. Through 5 March games Giannis is averaging 33.4 points, 7.6 assists, and 36.0 minutes per game, his highest monthly averages in each category this season, and this game has a healthy 220.0 point total.

headChopper: Nikola Vucevic – Projected ownership on Vuc looks extremely low on DK and a modest amount on FD. He struggled last game but Indiana can force bad games out of true 7-foot centers. Tonight, the matchup is more his speed against another true 7-footer. Last game against the Clippers, just a few days ago, Vuc dropped 22 points and 11 boards. If he can catch some good variance on those defensive stats, he could put up a monster score.

eys819: Tyrese Maxey – Milwaukee has been better defensively under Doc Rivers, but they still struggle to guard the perimeter. Maxey returned from concussion protocol and only played 27 minutes in the last game in a blowout loss to the Knicks. He should be back to full minutes in this one if Philly can keep the game close. Maxey has flashed 50 fantasy-point upside multiple times without Joel Embiid, and his salary has fallen below $9,000 on both sites. The pOWN% number is also extremely attractive, sitting well below 10% on both sites.
