NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 7
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Anthony Edwards – I’m a bit surprised by his current projection and by his current ownership projection. The Wolves have an elite matchup against the Pacers, who are 2nd in pace and 26th in defensive rating. More importantly, they are going to be without Karl-Anthony Towns. With him off the floor this season, Edwards has averaged 1.34 DK / 1.30 FD points per minute. He should see a major usage bump in a great matchup.
squirrelpatrol: Domantas Sabonis – While De’Aaron Fox is a great play, this matchup may be even more favorable for Sabonis. The Spurs allow the 6th-most points in the paint per game this season, and over their last 10 games, they’ve allowed the 2nd-most points in the paint per game. Now they’ll be without Victor Wembanyama in favor of Zach Collins, making the team significantly worse defensively in the paint.
headChopper: Jaden McDaniels – Early projections show low ownership on McDaniels tonight. I’ll run one team tonight on DK and there is a good chance it will have Kyle Anderson on it. However, Kyle Anderson is going to check in at 50% or higher owned on both sites, according to the early projections. McDaniels is a clear leverage play on that. KAT missed 2 games this season, and in one of them, Jaden played 40 minutes. The pace is strong here vs the Pacers, but Kyle Anderson’s nickname is “Slo-Mo,” which is not necessarily a good thing for him. There is a greater than decent chance that Anderson is average at best here and McDaniels is the one who exploits this good matchup.
eys819: Coby White – He has taken a massive leap forward for the Bulls this season and is averaging career highs in virtually every stat category. The salary tag has crept above $8,000, but there is still upside at that price, as White has dropped 50+ fantasy points multiple times this season. He gets a solid matchup against the Warriors and is currently sitting around 10% pOWN%.
