NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, November 9
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: In the two games without Wendell Carter in the lineup, Goga Bitadze has averaged 24 minutes and 28 fantasy points, while Moe Wager has averaged 24 minutes and 27 fantasy points. I don’t think it’s the craziest idea to pair them together tonight on DraftKings. You will get all 48 minutes of action from these centers in a game where the Magic’s implied total is 5.2 points higher than their season average. On FanDuel, both are viable, but one is projecting for much more ownership (Bitadze).
squirrelpatrol: This slate only has four teams, but three of them are in the bottom 8 of the NBA in scoring defense. Indiana, Milwaukee, and Atlanta allow the 5th-most, 6th-most, and 8th-most points per game, respectively. Orlando, the fourth team on the slate, allows the 3rd-least points per game.
headChopper: The Coach Bud effect. After being one of the better defensive teams in the NBA for several years, the Bucks haven’t gelled on that end of the court yet. They rank bottom 7 or worse in the NBA in PPG allowed, defensive efficiency, and opponent effective field goal %.
TheLuuch: The Bucks played fast last season, but they were great defensively. It’s still early in this season, but Milwaukee looks like they have taken a big step back with their defense. Maybe you blame a new coach? Maybe the departure of Jrue Holiday hurts? Damian Lillard was never known for his defense, while Holiday is an elite perimeter defender. These are two teams (Milwaukee and Indiana) that are playing fast with minimal resistance on the defensive end of the court. Even if this were a larger slate, this still would be one of the games to stack when looking for fantasy points.
tcsmith031: Tyrese Haliburton has a ridiculous 50% assist rate this season, which is about 9% higher than the player with the next-best rate, Trae Young. Haliburton also led the league in that same category last season (45.7%), while he also happens to be leading Indiana in usage. With the way the Bucks’ defense has fallen off the face of the earth, I’m more than happy to pay up for Hali as the best overall play on the slate.
