NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, October 26
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: With James Harden, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker all likely out tonight, everyone will look to build stars-and-scrubs lineups. This could leave excellent mid-range options, like Jusuf Nurkic and Tyrese Maxey, at relatively low ownership. I like the idea of being overweight on both.
squirrelpatrol: The salaries on opening night were distinctly soft. Since then, they’ve gotten even softer. The price on Anthony Davis has gone down $900 on FD and $100 on DK. The price on Kevin Durant, who should see the bulk of the offense with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal both doubtful, has gone down $1,000 on FD and up $500 (from an absurdly low $8,400) on DK. Even Jordan Goodwin, who should be stepping into more minutes tonight, saw his price drop $700 on FD and $100 on DK.
headChopper: James Harden is out. When James Harden missed a game last season, De’Anthony Melton averaged 8 fantasy points more than when Harden played. Melton is also a solid defender that could be tasked with more playing time due to the need to guard Damian Lillard.
TheLuuch: Last season without James Harden on the floor, Tyrese Maxey scored 8.6 more DK points per 36 minutes, Tobias Harris averaged 7, and De’Athony Melton averaged 4.3.
tcsmith031: Much was made of LeBron James playing just 29 minutes on opening night, and Darvin Ham said afterward that it was “in line” with the team’s plan for the NBA’s oldest player. I certainly don’t expect LeBron to suddenly come out and play 38 minutes tonight, but 32-33 shouldn’t be out of the question assuming we get a competitive game here. James still contributed 1.41 DK FP/min on opening night, so there’s still upside here even if his minutes aren’t what they used to be. If the masses are wary of the minutes cap, I don’t mind leaning into the uncertainty in GPPs.
