NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, February 27
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: The Jazz – Despite having a more condensed rotation since the trade deadline and despite having one of the best matchups on the slate (the Hawks are 4th in pace and 28th in defensive rating), the Jazz aren’t getting much projected ownership tonight. Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Jordan Clarkson, Collin Sexton, and John Collins are all garnering well below 20% projected ownership. This is the best game environment on the slate, so I like the idea of being overweight on the Jazz here.
squirrelpatrol: Kyle Kuzma – Kuzma already has the highest usage on the Wizards at 30.3%, and he sees the biggest increase of anyone on Washington with a jump to 33.6% with Jordan Poole off the court this season. Poole has come off the bench for Washington in the past 3 games – one game was a 41-point blowout to OKC, but in the other two, Kuzma put up 59.5 DK points against Denver and 47.25 against Cleveland. If Deni Avdija (Q) or Corey Kispert (Q) misses this game, Kuzma could take on even more of the offense.
headChopper: Anthony Edwards – We have a very low ownership projection for Ant Man despite a matchup against a team that doesn’t play good defense at all. His game is suited to avoid taking on Victor Wembanyama in the paint, thus giving him an avenue to score easily on this defense. The fear is blowout risk, but even in that scenario, the T-Wolves are good about making sure the game is put away before exiting their starters too early.
Stevietpfl: Keyonte George – We’re currently projecting George for 6% ownership, and he’s one of my favorite plays on this slate. George has played at least 29 minutes in 6 straight games and has over a 20% usage in 3 straight games. Atlanta ranks 28th in defensive rating, and they’re still playing at the 4th-fastest pace in the NBA. The young point guard has a new role, and I want to take advantage of it in this fast-paced matchup.
