NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, March 5

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Evan Mobley – The combination of a difficult matchup against the Celtics mixed with a low team total should keep ownership to a very reasonable level tonight. However, he has averaged 1.40 DK / 1.43 FD points per minute with Donovan Mitchell and Max Strus off the floor this season. He’s affordable on all sites despite averaging 48 fantasy points over his last 4 games.

squirrelpatrol: Alperen Sengun – Sengun is in a sneaky good spot tonight, and it gets even better if Victor Wembanyama misses tonight’s game. San Antonio allows the 6th-most points and 3rd-most rebounds per game on the season, and over their past 10 games, they are allowing the 3rd-most points in the paint per game in the NBA. Houston is a 7.5-point favorite at home tonight, and I’ll be giving Sengun a bump up in projection, particularly if it looks like Wembanyama will sit.

headChopper: Tyrese Haliburton – Our initial run of ownership projections has Haliburton at sub-5% on both sites. Sign me up. I’ve already mentioned the game total and team totals being so much higher than anyone else playing, yet Haliburton will fly under radars because the price seems too high to squeeze in with another star player. This game clearly has the most potential to be a shootout and a great game stack.

Stevietpfl: Ochai Agbaji – When looking at this slate for large-field tournaments, I want to be underweight on some of the chalky value options. We’re currently projecting Agbaji for less than 5% ownership on DraftKings. With Scottie Barnes already ruled out for tonight’s game, Olynyk looks to be the chalky option. Agbaji took 20 shots in 32 minutes against Charlotte and had a 26.6% usage rate in that game. I might be suckered into a 1-game sample size, but with no Barnes, I’m going back to the well here.
