NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, March 13
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Kelly Olynyk – Due to an elevated price point, he’s not garnering much projected ownership. As noted earlier, the Raptors have already ruled out Scottie Barnes, Jakob Poeltl, and RJ Barrett. Olynyk has been solid on a per-minute basis all season (1.12 DK / 1.11 FD) and draws one of the best matchups on the slate. The Pistons play at a fast pace and are 28th in defensive rating. Olynyk has 50+ fantasy point type of upside tonight.
squirrelpatrol: Pascal Siakam – The Bulls have been much worse defensively lately, allowing the 6th-most points per game over their past 10 games compared to the 17th-most points per game for the season. Siakam has averaged 19.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game over his past 8 games, and the Bulls have allowed the 7th-most rebounds per game in the NBA over their past 10 games.
headChopper: Kyrie Irving – Luka should crush. He’s also very expensive and will come at a high ownership number. Kyrie is far more likely to fail in this spot than Luka, but on the off chance it becomes a Kyrie night, we get the extra leverage of Kyrie being good while taking away from Luka at the same time. Golden State is not a good team in its current state, and we may see Luka defer slightly more to Kyrie tonight.
Stevietpfl: Cade Cunningham – Cunningham looks back to 100% and has at least 20 shot attempts in 4 straight games. In 16 games since February 1st, he is averaging 24.8 points per 36 minutes. Toronto is dealing with some major injuries, and they’re ranked 26th in defensive rating over their last 10 games. Cunningham has a 50+ point ceiling, and this is one of the best games to target on this slate.
