NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, March 27
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Nikola Vucevic – The Bulls have one of the most exploitable matchups on the slate, yet they aren’t garnering much ownership. Vucevic is priced under $9,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings and is currently garnering less than 1% ownership on each site. He continues to play big minutes and has averaged 38 fantasy points over his last 4 games. He is playing at home against the Pacers, who are 2nd in pace, 22nd in rebounding rate, and 25th in defensive rating.
tcsmith031: Chet Holmgren – The Rockets haven’t skipped a beat with Alperen Sengun out, but they’re going to have a tough time dealing with the size of Chet Holmgren tonight. Holmgren has flashed a wide range of outcomes of late, but I expect him to get lost in the shuffle at a deep center position on such a large slate. It won’t take a huge stand in order for you to get comfortably over Chet’s single-digit pOWN% on both DraftKings and FanDuel in GPPs.
headChopper: Clint Capela – This is just a leverage play off of the massive ownership that Bruno Fernando is projected at tonight. Capela has been a steady player in DFS for several weeks now, and that’s happening without a major uptick in minutes. We are going to get a decent score out of Capela regardless, but let’s suppose something happens to those 22 projected Bruno minutes, and they shift to Capela. Then, we are golden with this play.
TheLuuch: LeBron James – I’m not sure if I would play this card in a single-entry tournament, but if you are playing more than one lineup, I like this angle a lot. RotoGrinders currently has LeBron at 1% pOWN% 24 hours after Anthony Davis played 52 (!!!) minutes in an overtime game while LBJ had the night off. This a dream scenario for a late-swapper, as LBJ is eligible at both forward slots on both sites. LeBron could lead SF or PF in raw points (or simply the entire slate in scoring if Davis sits), as LBJ gets a 3.7% usage increase without AD on the floor this season.
