NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, March 6
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: De’Aaron Fox – With so many good plays, very few will look to the SAC/LAL game outside of Domantas Sabonis. Fox hasn’t had the best season, but he has found something over the last few weeks. He has topped 50 fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games. He draws a pace-up matchup against the Lakers, who are 27th in defensive rating over the last 10 games. Fox could be that late-night hammer that you need in tournaments.
squirrelpatrol: Kelly Oubre – I pointed out yesterday Oubre’s outstanding numbers with no Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, or Patrick Beverley on the court this season, and he put up 44 DK points against Brooklyn off the bench. His price barely moved. He’s SG/SF eligible on both FanDuel and DraftKings, and he now averages 43.5 DK points per 36 minutes with Embiid, Maxey, and Beverley off the court this year.
headChopper: Anthony Davis – He has lower projected ownership than I expected in a good game environment tonight. Davis has been in fine form recently, consistently playing35+ minutes in games that are non-blowouts, and he doesn’t leave early with foul trouble or injury. The Lakers have the highest team total on the slate, and this matchup should favor Davis in a major way.
tcsmith031: Chet Holmgren – There is a lot to like at center on this slate, as usual. With Jarrett Allen and Nikola Vucevic, both projected to pull ownership in the midrange, it looks like Chet Holmgren could go overlooked in tournaments despite a strong matchup on the road against a weak Portland frontcourt likely to be missing Deandre Ayton again. The rookie big man is up to a healthy 1.26 DK FP/minute average on the year, and OKC has the 2nd-highest implied team total on tonight’s slate (118.5).
