NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, October 25
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: There are a million stats that we could point to here, but I’ll take more of a broad view for my take on the slate. The first week of NBA DFS is a great time to target the players that you like, regardless of their projections. Once we get rotations and rates locked in, then we can lean heavily on the projections. For tonight, don’t be afraid to target those that might not project as well as others. Two great examples are Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren. It’s hard to project players making their first career starts, yet they both offer slate-breaking upside.
meansy53: This often happens on the first big slate of the season, but generally speaking, you should be able to do whatever you want with your lineups tonight. For one, a ton of the league’s stars (and thus, the most expensive players) played on Opening Night. And then Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo don’t play their first game until tomorrow. So even with 12 games, we have very few players priced above $10,000. And secondly, uncertain situations due to so many moving parts in the offseason are going to lead to some glaring pricing errors. My point? If a specific type of roster construction becomes very chalky, it should be quite easy for you to find alternatives. And basically equally appealing alternatives too.
squirrelpatrol: Jaren Jackson Jr. led the NBA in blocks per-36 minutes last season with 3.8. Victor Wembanyama averaged 4.7 blocks per-36 minutes in the preseason.
headChopper: On a 12-game slate (huge for the NBA), Luka Doncic is the only player currently projected at more than 50 DraftKings or FanDuel points. This slate will be decided by those mid-range options.
stevietpfl: We have a massive 12-game slate to kick off the season. We’re all excited that NBA is back. With that said, as a tournament player, I want to take advantage of situations that might not be so clear. If you like something, take advantage of it early in the season.
