Miami Heat vs Toronto Raptors

News & Notes

The good news for Miami is we have this tweet that some veterans will sit again against the Raptors. “It will not be anywhere close to a full dress rehearsal.” Coach Spo said Heat’s recent scrimmages have been closer to that. This is all we can ask for and while this is a complete guess, I think it’s likely we see Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala be rest candidates. For what it’s worth, there’s a good article here that quotes Dragic as saying he expects to “play a little bit.” Of course the last time we were in this spot, some of us loaded up on Chris Silva and got burned by the Heat (oh, pun not intended!). I’ll leave it to Meansy to break this down, but with no known injuries and rest candidates, it’s safe to say there’s some risk here as Coach Spo has shown us this preseason we don’t know as much about their rotations as we think we do. The article does mention the final two-way spot is down to between BJ Johnson and Max Strus, which makes me think we could see both of them battle it out for the final spot as the Heat have 18 players and need to narrow it down to 17 for the regular season.
