NBA DFS Showdown Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, December 9

DRAFTKINGS

Who are your three favorite Captains, ranked in order?

Notorious: Karl-Anthony Towns, Davion Mitchell, Jakob Poeltl
headChopper: Karl-Anthony Towns, Davion Mitchell, Josh Hart
Dean78904: Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I will play small-field and single-entry tournaments tonight. My plan of attack is to be a little unique at the STAR and PRO spots. Players like Jakob Poeltl, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart are unlikely to be popular at the multiplier spots.

headChopper: I’m running 20 entries across several large-field GPPs. On FanDuel, I’ll cycle through multiple players for the final FLEX spot after locking in my high-projected plays in MVP, STAR, PRO, and a solid FLEX. On DraftKings, I think using Davion Mitchell in the Captain spot is a strong way to differentiate several lineups.

Dean78904: I prefer single-entry and smaller-field contests. According to RG’s Defense vs. Archetype Matchup Tool, the matchup for “Post Bigs” is the 5th-toughest in the NBA. The Knicks have allowed the 7th-fewest blocks, allowed the 8th-fewest points in the paint, and given up an NBA-low rebounds per game. This is where the fantasy bread is buttered for Jakob Poeltl, so I’m just betting against him having a big game. I’m not outright refusing to play him, but I’m not rostering him at Captain on DK or MVP on FD.
