NBA DFS Showdown Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, May 18

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

tcsmith031: PJ Washington is contributing a healthy 1.04 DK FP/minute so far in this series. That’s up considerably from the 0.82 FPPM rate he posted in a Mavericks uniform during the regular season.

eys819: The Thunder finally made a change to their starting lineup in Game 5, inserting Isaiah Joe ahead of Josh Giddey. The results were not great, as they lost by double digits. It would not be a surprise to see them give someone like Cason Wallace or Aaron Wiggins a shot with the starting 5 for Game 6.

kmurray03: Daniel Gafford has quietly found himself a nice role in this DAL playoff offense, as he has a usage rate up over 18%. That is pretty impressive considering he finds himself competing with both PJ Washington and Kyrie Irving for shot attempts at that rate, and he gives himself upside for double-digit shot attempts.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
