NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Friday, December 15th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Friday everyone, we have officially made it to the weekend. Between impromptu dentist visits and hosting a gingerbread house decorating party for my nieces and nephews last night, I’m ready to relax with a beer (or five) and watch some basketball. I do have a funny story about my niece. I was trying to get them to eat something that wasn’t sugar and asked if they liked bacon. Her eyes got all wide and she went on a 2-minute rant about bacon. For the record, she’s 4 years old and thinks she’s Taylor Swift.
“Yes, we love bacon and yes we can have it. But, we can’t let my brother nibble it.”
I laugh. “What do you mean we can’t let him nibble it?”
“My brother nibbles his bacon and my mom gets really mad. If he nibbles, we can’t have bacon for a whole week. If anyone nibbles it, no more bacon.”
The way she explained it was all too funny, and I was dying at the absurdity of the claim. I had no choice but to ask my sister about it and sure enough, she hates it when he eats like a rabbit and nibbles his bacon. Being the good uncle that I am, I made sure no nibbling took part on my watch. Kids are too funny.
Without the comments at the bottom of the page, it’s hard to know if readers like my personal anecdotes to open each day’s article. But after receiving a few messages yesterday, I know that a lot of you read these intros. If you are only here for the basketball takes, feel free to scroll straight to the team previews each day.
Now, let’s not nibble on tonight’s 8-game slate. We don’t want to have no NBA DFS for a whole week.

Team Previews
Detroit Pistons (at PHI): We kick off the weekend with the Pistons, who are currently riding a 21-game losing streak. They have officially reached the legal drinking number. It’s wild to me that a professional team can lose this many games in a row, but here we are. Something tells me they will get to 22, as they are massive underdogs on the road against the Sixers. This is a below-average matchup and the game has blowout concerns. On the injury front, Marvin Bagley and Jalen Duren will both be out again. We’ve seen some big outings from Cade Cunningham and Bojan Bogdanovic recently, but they are large-field tournament fliers at best on this slate.
Philadelphia 76ers (vs. DET): The Sixers are riding a 4-game winning streak, they are 9-3 at home, and they are facing the lowly Pistons. While this is one of the best matchups for fantasy production, there’s a good chance the starters end up sitting in the fourth quarter of a blowout. It’s all about risk tolerance with the Sixers. If the Pistons can put up a fight, the Sixers have plenty of upside. Joel Embiid has scored at least 60 fantasy points in 8 straight games. Tyrese Maxey also offers a high ceiling and should garner less ownership than Embiid in tournaments.
