A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

The NBA in-season tournament quarterfinal is officially here. We have 2 games today and 2 games tomorrow in order to determine the final four. From there, the semifinal games will be played on Thursday and the Championship game will be played on Saturday. In terms of motivation, all players that lose in the quarterfinals will receive $50,000, all players that lose in the semifinals will receive $100,000, all players that lose in the championship will receive $200,000, and players on the championship-winning team will receive $500,000. All of these games still count in the season-long standings with the exception of the championship game.

I was a little skeptical about the in-season tournament when it was first announced, but the players and coaches absolutely bought into the idea. We saw some great basketball last month and having point differential factor into the standings led to more predictability, which is something we love for DFS and betting. I’m actually quite excited for tonight’s slate, as the games should have a playoff-like atmosphere. And since there weren’t any games yesterday, none of the teams are playing in the front half of back half of a back-to-back. Let’s dive into this 2-game slate.

Team Previews

Boston Celtics (at IND): The Celtics might have the best record in the NBA, but they are the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference in-season tournament. Tonight they travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers, who are ranked 1st in pace, 24th in rebounding rate, and 29th in defensive rating. The Celtics come into the game with a team total of 122.3 points, which is the highest on the board and 5.6 points above their season average.

Kristaps Porzingis is still out with a calf injury. Here is the CourtIQ query with him off the floor this season:

BOS12.4

It’s sort of a perfect scenario for Boston — they are missing one of their best players and they have the best matchup on the slate. We should try to get as much exposure to the Celtics as possible. In terms of projections, Boston has three of the top seven RG Values on DraftKings (Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, and Jaylen Brown) and three of the top eight RG Values on FanDuel (Tatum, White, and Al Horford). Horford is especially intriguing, as he has averaged 40 fantasy points in 4 games without Porzingis this season.
