NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Monday, December 11th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers for winning the first-ever In-Season Tournament championship. No matter what side of the debate you are on between Michael Jordan and LeBron James as the GOAT (Greatest of All-Time), I’m not sure this should be used as a tiebreaker. With that said, it clearly meant a lot to the players and it was fun watching them celebrate winning a game in December.
On the personal front, I woke up this morning and couldn’t move my head left or right without serious pain. I don’t know if I pinched a nerve in my neck or what. The strange part is that I didn’t workout or anything and that I didn’t feel any pain throughout the night. Getting old is fun. It makes what Lebron is doing that much more impressive. I can’t even sleep the right way without getting injured and he’s out here dominating the highest level of basketball at 38 years old.
I might be listed as questionable for the family get-together later this evening, but I am listed as active for covering today’s NBA slate. Let’s dive into this massive 13-game slate.

Team Previews
Cleveland Cavaliers (at ORL): We kick off the slate with the Cavaliers, who have only played 4 road games all season (2-2). They draw a difficult matchup against the Magic, who are ranked 5th in pace and 2nd in defensive rating. While the matchup isn’t great, they have already ruled out Evan Mobley, Caris LeVert, and Ty Jerome. Here’s the CourtIQ query with Mobley and LeVert off the floor this season:

Orlando Magic (vs. CLE): The Magic are currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference standings. They have been impressive this season, largely on the defensive end of the floor. Tonight they square off against the Cavaliers, who are ranked 17th in pace and 8th in defensive rating. This projects to be one of the slowest-paced games on the slate. Wendell Carter has already been ruled out, while Jonathan Isaac and Jalen Suggs are both listed as questionable. If Suggs is out, Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero would become decent options in all formats.
