Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Monday!

For golf fans out there, happy PLAYERS Championship week. For college basketball fans, the conference tournaments are starting to get rolling. For baseball fans, spring training is up and running. For NASCAR fans, you continue to print money by following Stevie’s advice. It’s a good time to be a sports fan; the weather is finally starting to get better, and the clocks have jumped forward an hour, so it’s not going to be dark at 6:00 PM anymore. Life is good.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I’m sure many of you are like this as well, but for whatever reason, my brain does not allow me to relax. If I have a day where I don’t get something done or go somewhere, I feel bad about it. I decided to jam in as many activities as possible on Saturday. I drove across the border to get some bets in for the weekend, I went to my nephew’s basketball game, I took my little one to yet another birthday party, and then we capped off the night by going to the Real Salt Lake game.

While at the game, my little dude said he wasn’t feeling great. His cousins and grandparents were there, so he didn’t want to leave. As a parent, it’s always tough knowing if your kid is actually sick or playing it up a bit. After a couple of hours, I finally talked him into going home to get some medicine. It was already pretty late, and he had fallen asleep on the drive home. I figured we were in the clear, but the second we walked in the door, he started throwing up all over the place. The scene was the stuff nightmares are made of. I’m not going to lie. I was barely able to keep my dinner down. I managed to clean the floor (with my nose in my shirt and my eyes closed) but ended up having to throw away two rugs. Yeah, it was bad.

The moral of the story? Maybe it’s fine to take it easy every once in a while. With that out of the way, let’s dive into this 6-game slate.

Team Previews

Charlotte Hornets (at DET): Tonight’s slate starts with the Hornets, who are 16-48 on the season. Despite having six more wins than the Pistons, they own the worst point differential in the NBA. Tonight they square off against Detroit in a battle of bad basketball teams. The good news is that this is an elite matchup for fantasy production, as the Pistons are 7th in pace and 29th in defensive rating. The market doesn’t seem to buy the good matchup narrative, as Charlotte’s team total is slightly below their season average. LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, Seth Curry, Cody Martin, and Bryce McGowens have all been ruled out, while Tre Mann is doubtful. The current Charlotte roster is filled with volatile players who are best suited for tournaments. Vasilije Micic, Davis Bertans, Brandon Miller, and Miles Bridges all have risk but all offer high ceilings at their respective price points. If I could only choose one, I would side with Miller. He’s had a 27% usage rate over the last 4 games.
