A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Last night’s slate was a wild ride. We had several teams playing shorthanded on the heels of Thursday’s trade deadline, while a few others were crushed by injuries and illness. Today, we could see more of the same. The Knicks are on the slate, and we know how thin they are these days amid a rash of injuries to key players. We’ll also see several of the same teams we had on last night’s slate, though reinforcements could be on the way for the Wizards, Sixers, and Hornets, among others.

This is the NBA though, and we certainly have the potential for more wildness with the All-Star break just a few days away. As always, I’ll be here leading up to lock to provide you with the latest updates ahead of Saturday night’s 7-game slate. Please note that both DraftKings and FanDuel have excluded the 10 PM ET clash between the Pelicans and Blazers on their main slates.

News Updates

Here’s where I’ll provide news updates throughout the day.

Team Previews

Memphis Grizzlies (at CHA): The Grizz made a couple of moves ahead of the deadline, shipping out David Roddy and Xavier Tillman most notably. Tonight in Charlotte, they’ll again be without Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Ziaire Williams (D), Brandon Clarke, and Jake LaRavia, while Derrick Rose is questionable. Memphis is actually favored by 4 points here because the Hornets are somehow even worse. The Grizz will have 12 available bodies for this game if Rose suits up, so they’re not as thin as they have been lately. It’s a great spot for Jaren Jackson as the unquestioned usage leader, while Vince Williams has been rather productive (1.02 FP/minute) with the injured/traded Grizzlies off the court this year. Otherwise, there isn’t a whole lot standing out on the Memphis side of things tonight.

Charlotte Hornets (vs. MEM): The Hornets got their doors blown off by the Bucks last night, and they’re slight underdogs at home tonight against a more well-rested version of the Grizz. Grant Williams, Tre Mann, and Seth Curry should be available after coming over at the deadline, so at least the Hornets have that going for them. Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller are viable dart throws in tournaments thanks to their high-usage, big-minute roles, while Nick Richards has shown some occasional upside as the starting center. It’s really not a great spot overall though, as Memphis is still a respectable 11th in defensive efficiency even with all of their injury woes.
