Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Saturday, February 7th

Reaves of the Lakers

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. So, who better to walk you through the madness of NBA DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best plays, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Saturday! Mine is off to a rather rough start, as I’d written this entire article before losing it all thanks to an ill-timed reload. Remember folks: Never do dumb things. The new version will be somewhat briefer than usual, as I’m a bit pressed for time. Note that FanDuel has 2 more games on their main slate than DraftKings does. I’ll also be on Crunch Time with TJ and Will in the hour leading up to lock, so tune in at 6 PM ET.

Off we go.

Team Previews

George of the Jazz

Utah Jazz (at ORL)

The Jazz should have Jaren Jackson Jr. ready to roll for his team debut tonight, yet they’re still fairly heavy 8.5-point underdogs on the road tonight in Orlando. Keyonte George and Kevin Love were upgraded to probable this morning, while Walker Kessler is still out.

I’m in wait-and-see mode when it comes to Utah. Jackson may lose some usage playing next to George and Lauri Markkanen, and it’s not a particularly appealing matchup in the first place. I do think George is an interesting GPP play considering how well he’s played all season, and the Magic have struggled against high-usage guards even with Jalen Suggs in the lineup. We’re projecting JJJ to start at the 5 over Jusuf Nurkic, who typically doesn’t play at all whenever he doesn’t start. Isaiah Collier is a pretty easy fade at his elevated salaries now that Keyonte is expected to return to the lineup.
