A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. On weekends, jack-of-all-trades Taylor Smith takes the reins. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

We’re back on a fine Saturday with 5 games on the NBA DFS main slate. The festivities tip off at 7 PM ET, though there is a game starting an hour sooner if you’re in the showdown streets. 4 of the 10 teams in action this evening played last night, so this slate could have a very familiar feel. We do have a few noteworthy players carrying questionable tags, so there’s always a chance some injury news will shake things up between now and lock.

As always, I’ll be updating Core Plays throughout the day. I’ll also be on Crunch Time at 6:15 ET with TJ and Tim to give my last-minute thoughts heading right into lock. With that, let’s dive right in.

News Updates

This is the news update section…as you may have deduced from the header. I’ll update this all afternoon as news trickles in.

Team Previews

Minnesota Timberwolves (at NOP): The Wolves are 6.5-point favorites over the Pelicans tonight in New Orleans, though this spread could widen if we get some injury news on the Pels’ side of things. Minnesota is completely healthy, but their salaries overall look a little more alluring on DraftKings than they do on FanDuel. Anthony Edwards (33% usage) seems to have taken his game to new heights this season, while Karl-Anthony Towns (28.1%) is still garnering plenty of usage as the No. 2 option. Guys like Kyle Anderson and Mike Conley are popping as solid values in projections, though Conley, in particular, lacks the kind of ceiling we’re typically hunting in tournaments.
