A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Christmas hangover? Let’s hope not because we have a 9-game slate on tap Tuesday night. Well, DraftKings has a 9-game slate. As we saw last week, FanDuel has decided to take the two late games off of their main slate. Honestly, I don’t have any issue with the sites doing this. I am generally ready for bed by the time the late games end, and I live in Utah (MST). I can’t imagine what it’s like for those of you who live in the Eastern Time Zone, especially those who have kids.
I hope everyone was able to have a profitable Christmas in terms of DFS. I had an excellent day in the NFL, largely thanks to the long touchdown catch by Darius Slayton. I had him as the captain in my main lineup on DraftKings and had him in my main slate lineup as well. I thought I had a good chance of securing a win in NBA too, but Caleb Martin got injured and Paul Reed couldn’t stay out of foul trouble. It was a good day overall, so no complaints on my end.
For tonight’s slate, we don’t have any teams playing in the second half of a back-to-back. Five teams are playing in the front end of a back-to-back, but we likely won’t have to worry about them until Wednesday.

Team Previews
Brooklyn Nets (at DET): We kick off the slate with the Nets, who have lost 6 of their last 10 games and who are only 5-8 on the road. Luckily for them, they are facing a team that has lost 26 straight games. When you lose that many basketball games, you are obviously not a good defensive team. The Nets come into the game with a team total that is 3.5 points above their season average.
The Nets have ruled out Ben Simmons and Lonnie Walker but have been without those two for quite a while. The three main targets here over the last few weeks have been Spencer Dinwiddie, Mikal Bridges, and Nic Claxton. The matchup sets up well for all three, as the Pistons haven’t been good against guards, wings, or centers. The fact that they are the Nets should help keep ownership at a reasonable level.
Detroit Pistons (vs. BKN): You know, I feel for fans of the Pistons. It’s not easy to watch your team lose 26 straight games. The crazy part is that I believe they have more talent than at least a few teams in the league. I was scrolling through Twitter the other night and someone made a thread of Detroit fans boasting about how much fun they were to watch when they were 2-1 after the first 3 games. Life comes at you fast. As for tonight, they have a fairly high team total at home against the Nets.
