Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday, December 10th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best plays, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Wednesday!
We have another NBA Cup slate, so there are only 2 games on the schedule. The winners of tonight’s games will move on to the final four, where last night’s winners (Magic, Knicks) await. It should be a fun 2-game slate, although we have a serious lack of value. We aren’t going to love the way our lineups look, but that’s the case for everybody.
As is the case with most Wednesdays, I will be on Crunch Time. With the 7:30 PM ET lock time, Dean, TJ, and I are set to go live at 6:45 PM ET. If you want to watch live, hop in the chat, and we’ll answer any questions that you have for tonight’s slate.

Team Previews

Phoenix Suns (at OKC)
With these NBA Cup games mattering more, we should see some slightly more condensed rotations. The Suns have a brutal matchup against the Thunder, who have been blowing everyone out. Not only do we have to worry about a blowout, but the Thunder are 1st in both points allowed per game and defensive rating. The Suns are 14.5-point underdogs and come into the game with a team total that is 10 points below their season average. Jalen Green is out, while Devin Booker is questionable.
As it stands with Booker in the projections, there’s not a single player with a positive RGValue on the Suns. He hasn’t played in nearly 10 days and hasn’t flashed a ton of upside this season anyway. If active, he’s an easy fade. The same goes for the rest of the Suns if you are playing cash games or small-field tournaments. A lot of the Suns are priced as if Booker is out.
Let’s see who benefits the most with Booker and Green off the floor in case Booker ends up being out again:

Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, and Collin Gillespie all have seen major upticks in usage with Booker off the floor. This doesn’t feel like a matchup where we should expect Brooks to be hyper-efficient, but Allen and Gillespie would both become viable in tournaments. It could also be a sneaky spot for Mark Williams. He’s a good per-minute producer and could see a few extra minutes given the importance of tonight’s game.
