We are now 5 days away from Christmas.
Happy Wednesday, everyone. I have a funny story about yesterday. I originally bought tickets to see ‘Elf the Musical’ back in November. I couldn’t believe how far you had to book in advance, given the fact that they do three shows per day. Anyway, I booked the tickets for the 12:30 show. I had a plan to surprise my little one by checking him out of school and taking him. Unfortunately, his school Christmas party happened to be at the exact same time. I decided to double-check the time of the show, so I went into my email and pulled up the tickets. To my surprise, they were for the 4:00 PM show. Christmas miracle! He could now go to his party and go to the show.
The night before the show, we threw my sister a surprise birthday party. At the party, I found out that my father and his wife were going to the same Elf show at the same exact time. What are the odds, right? So yesterday, I picked up my little one from school, rushed him home to get changed, and we headed out the door. While driving, I pulled up the tickets so that we could quickly scan them when we got there. I zoomed in and noticed that the tickets said 12:30. I immediately panicked and searched through my email. That’s when I noticed I had two sets of tickets — one for the 12:30 show and one for the 4:00 show.
Here’s what happened — my dad and I have the same first and last name. We are both Landon Farnsworth. I’ve always gone by my middle name and hated it until I got older. I decided to do the same for my son, so now there are three of us Landons. Anyway, when my dad booked his tickets, he did it over the phone. They just looked up the account by name and sent his tickets to my email address. Essentially, we missed our 12:30 show because the theatre mistakenly sent me my dad’s tickets. I was stressed out, but we got there, and the theatre was happy to fix the situation. I guess they keep a couple of seats open just in case they need them.
I’m not a big musical guy, but the show was good. It ended up being a great night. After intermission, we let my little one sit by his grandma for the second act, and they were in the front row. Watching him as the snow fell in the show is a memory I will always cherish.
The moral of the story is that even when things look bad, they can sometimes turn out for the best. I hope that this can apply to Ja Morant. There is no doubt that he’s one of the most talented basketball players in the world. In his first game of the season, he put up 22 second-half points, helped erase a 19-point deficit, and hit the game-winner against the Pelicans. Let’s hope he’s on the right path and can live a better life off the court. As for tonight, we have 10 games to break down. Let’s dive right into the team previews!

Team Previews
Charlotte Hornets (at IND): We kick off the 10-game slate with the Hornets, who get the pleasure of facing the Pacers. If you weren’t aware, the Pacers are 1st in pace and 29th in points allowed per game this season. The Hornets are sizable underdogs here but have a team total that is 6 points higher than their season average. LaMelo Ball is still out, while Mark Williams is more doubtful than probable for tonight’s game. Miles Bridges and Gordon Hayward are set to return to the lineup. Terry Rozier is the top target here. He has topped 43 fantasy points in 8 of his last 9 games. I also like Nick Richards a bit in tournaments.
