Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. My 10-year-old son had a sleepover with two of his friends last weekend. They tried to pull an all-nighter and didn’t quite get there (they fell asleep at midnight). After the sleepover, he was a zombie the rest of the day. We thought it was a lack of sleep, but it turns out he got the flu. And now, our 11-year-old has it as well. They aren’t feeling great, but they are living their best lives. They are home from school, hanging out in bed all day, playing video games, and getting waited on around the clock.

It’s a big week in the PGA DFS streets, as we have the WM Phoenix Open starting tomorrow morning. It’s the biggest party on the PGA TOUR, and I’m hoping all of the RG members can celebrate with a bunch of DFS wins. As mentioned yesterday, my revamped model is free for everyone to try this week. You can download the model in Excel, adjust the weights to your liking, and create your own golfer ratings that you can use to build lineups in LineupHQ.

As for the association, we have 7 games on the schedule tonight. There were some huge trades that happened yesterday, and we can expect more to happen over the next two days. I’m on Crunch Time duty tonight with Roth and Beer, so feel free to join us at 6:15 as we give our final thoughts and answer any questions before lineup lock.

Let’s dive into the games!

Slate Overview

News Updates

This section will be updated as injury news is released throughout the day.

Team Previews

Jokic of the Nuggets

Denver Nuggets (at NYK)

We kick off tonight’s 7-game slate with the Nuggets, who are playing on the second half of a back-to-back. The fact that they are facing the Knicks doesn’t help matters, as New York is ranked 23rd in pace and 6th in points allowed per game. Denver’s team total is 12 points lower than their season average. We don’t have their injury report yet, but we expect them to be without at least Aaron Gordon, Cam Johnson, and Christian Braun.

If Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are both active, the Nuggets become one of the easiest teams on the slate to fade. Jokic played 32 minutes last night, which was his highest mark since returning from injury. It’s hard to imagine him topping that on the second half of a back-to-back. Murray is too expensive in this matchup. If the Nuggets decide to rest some key players, I’ll circle back and provide an update.

New York Knicks (vs. DEN)

The Knicks are also playing on the second half of a back-to-back, although their starters got to rest for most of the 4th quarter in a blowout win over the Wizards last night. They draw a mediocre matchup against the Nuggets, who are 16th in points allowed per game and 23rd in defensive rating. The pace of this game doesn’t look great, which is why New York’s team total is 3 points lower than their season average. We don’t have their injury report yet, but we have Josh Hart and Miles McBride listed as doubtful in the Situation Room.

Karl-Anthony Towns is the only player on the Knicks with a positive RGValue tonight. His game log has been volatile, but he offers a high ceiling at a reasonable price point. I was originally concerned about a matchup against Jokic, but KAT has scored at least 50 fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 games against Jokic. Jalen Brunson has been held under 45 fantasy points in 5 straight games. With Hart expected out, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson are worth a look as low-owned tournament plays.
