Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I finally watched season one of True Detectives with two of my favorite actors, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. What a show. I had the strongest deja vu while watching the show, yet I had never seen it before. Maybe, as Rust pointed out while smoking 98 cigarettes in a row, we are destined to live the same life over and over again. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. I’m usually a bigger fan of comedies, upbeat and feel-good shows, but even I loved this one.

You know it’s funny, everyone who told me to watch the first season said to skip the second season. I asked why, and they all said they had heard it wasn’t very good. So nobody has watched the second season, yet everyone says it’s not any good. I plan to break that cycle and give it a watch at some point. I also finished Severance, which was a wild ride. I’m thinking about starting Fargo next, and I heard Suits is good. If you have any show recommendations, hit me up on Twitter or in Discord. The All-Star break is coming up, and it’s still snowing in my part of the world, so I need a couple of shows that I can binge-watch.

As for tonight, we have another 7-game slate on tap. This week has been awesome from a scheduling standpoint. These 6-to-8 game slates have always been my favorite. We don’t get overwhelmed with options, yet there are plenty of ways to get unique with lineups in tournaments. We only have one team playing in the second half of a back-to-back (Heat) and four teams playing in the first half of a back-to-back (Cavaliers, Warriors, Spurs, Pistons). Both FanDuel and DraftKings have decided to keep the two late games on their main slates.

Team Previews

Cleveland Cavaliers (at WAS): We kick off tonight’s slate with the Cavaliers, who have won 6 games in a row. They have vaulted up to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference standings. Tonight they travel to Washington to take on the Wizards, who are 1st in pace, 30th in rebounding rate, and 27th in defensive rating. The Cavaliers have a team total that is 8 points higher than their season average. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley are starting to play more, but we still have both projected to see fewer than 30 minutes tonight. This is tough because it’s hard to make a case for them when they are on a minutes restriction, and at the same time, those two playing more minutes cut into the production of the other starters. However, a matchup against the Wizards is hard to ignore. Donovan Mitchell has scored at least 58 fantasy points in 5 of his last 8 games. Jarrett Allen is facing the worst rebounding team in the league and was snubbed as an All-Star replacement. Both are solid options tonight.

Washington Wizards (vs. CLE): The Wizards have lost 3 games in a row and 8 of their last 10 outings. Tonight they host the Cavaliers, who are 21st in pace and 2nd in defensive rating. Over the last 10 games, Cleveland has been the best defensive team in the league. Despite playing at home, the Wizards are 11.5-point underdogs and have a team total that is well below their season average. Marvin Bagley and Isaiah Livers are both out, but the Wizards should have everyone else available tonight. Given my overall lack of trust in the Wizards, the large spread, and the difficult matchup, I’m fine crossing this team off my list of potential targets for tonight.
