Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday, March 27th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Wednesday!
Has anyone seen Resident Alien? I stumbled across it a couple of weeks ago and breezed through all the episodes. It’s about an alien that comes to Earth to kill everyone, but so many things go wrong that he has to pretend to be a human in a small city in Colorado. I get the sense that it’s not a show for everyone, but I find it funny and entertaining. It’s a nice break in between the murder mysteries and mind-bender type of shows that I’ve been watching recently.
This article will be out a little earlier than usual because I decided to drive to Southern Utah with my little one to visit some friends. I don’t want his entire Spring Break spent sitting at home on his tablet, so this is the compromise. I will have the team previews and the initial set of rankings done before I leave and will stop at a few gas stations to update for injuries. I’ll arrive at our destination well before lock, so everything will be updated as usual.
As far as the slate tonight, the scheduling gods didn’t do me any favors. There are 12 games on the schedule. FanDuel and DraftKings are rolling out a 10-game main slate. We have teams playing in the second half of a back-to-back (Warriors, Thunder) and one team playing in the front end of a back-to-back (Hawks). There are only 2 games on Thursday and then we get another 12-game slate on Friday. We have a lot to cover, so let’s dive into the slate.

Team Previews
Cleveland Cavaliers (at CHA): We kick off this massive slate with the Cavaliers, who have lost 6 of their last 10 games. They are now tied with the Knicks in the loss column and only one loss ahead of the Magic. They need to finish the season with a better record than at least one of those teams if they want to host a first-round playoff series. Tonight, they travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets, who are 29th in rebounding rate and 28th in defensive rating. The Cavaliers have a team total that is 3.6 points below their season average. Donovan Mitchell and Dean Wade are out, while Max Strus is questionable. Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen both project with positive RGValues and are worth a look in tournaments.
Charlotte Hornets (vs. CLE): The Hornets have lost 5 games in a row and haven’t had much of a home-court advantage this season. Tonight, they draw a brutal matchup against the Cavaliers, who are 25th in pace and 4th in defensive rating. The Hornets are large underdogs and have a total that is 7.9 points below their season average. LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, Seth Curry, and Cody Martin are all out, but everyone else should be available for this game. A case can usually be made for Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller in tournaments, but I don’t see a need to play them in a difficult matchup and on a large slate like this one.
