Happy Wednesday!

I ended up having a decent night of DFS, although the dud from Jarrett Allen was hard to overcome. I nearly ended up with Daniss Jenkins in my main lineup but ultimately went with another combination of players. I’ll never complain about a profitable night of DFS, so let’s keep it going on tonight’s 2-game slate.

We have two Game 2s on the docket this evening. The Sixers were torched by the Knicks in Game 1 and are looking to even up the series with a win. While this series looks like a mismatch on paper, the Sixers have bounced back nicely after bad performances. The Wolves picked up a huge win in Game 1, so it’ll be interesting to see how they approach tonight’s game. They would obviously love to go up 2-0 in the series, but the Spurs will certainly have more urgency.

As always, thanks for joining em. Let’s dive into the team previews.

Team Previews

Embiid of the Sixers

Philadelphia 76ers (at NYK)

We kick off tonight’s slate with the Sixers, who didn’t put up much of a fight in Game 1. The starters all played limited minutes because the game was essentially over at halftime. They enter tonight’s Game 2 as 7.5-point underdogs. The Knicks are far from an ideal matchup for fantasy production, as they rank 25th in pace and 5th in points allowed per game. Philly’s team total of 104 points is the 2nd lowest on the board and 12 points lower than their season average.

Tyrese Maxey struggled mightily in Game 1 (17 fantasy points) and has seen a downtick in usage ever since Joel Embiid came back from injury. However, Maxey’s price has come down, and he’s a good bet to play 40+ minutes if this game stays competitive. He continues to be a strong tournament play. Embiid also struggled in Game 1, but he’s had a usage rate of at least 33% in 3 of his 5 playoff games. He offers a better floor/ceiling combination than Maxey and is viable in all formats.

VJ Edgecombe and Paul George are viable thanks to the size of tonight’s slate, but they are far from priorities. Edgecombe’s usage rate has been low in the postseason, while George has struggled to make shots. The good news is that we know they are both going to play big minutes. Kelly Oubre Jr. played well in Game 1, but I think that could lead to inflated ownership. Let’s not forget that he was held under 15 fantasy points in 3 games against the Celtics in the 1st round.
