A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

We have made it to hump day, which means we are one day away from Thursday night football, one morning away from seeing Tiger Woods back in action, and two days away from the weekend. On top of that, we have a perfectly-sized NBA slate to break down tonight. Life is good.

Last night’s slate was fun. I ended up going with a full Heat stack and then using Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun. It was enough to get my team across the cash line, which is goal number one in DFS. Hopefully, we can rattle of a GPP win here soon.

As for tonight’s slate, there are 7 games on the schedule. We have 3 teams playing in the second half of a back-to-back and 4 teams playing on the front end of a back-to-back. There are more injuries to monitor than I’d like to see, but that will keep us on our toes.

Also, how great has the NBA in-season tournament been? I was skeptical at first, but it has generated some terrific basketball. The quarterfinals have been set:

Team Previews

Washington Wizards (at ORL): We kick off the slate with the Wizards, who draw one of the worst possible matchups this evening. They are playing on the road against the Magic, who are ranked 5th or better in rebounding rate, three-point attempts allowed, points allowed per game, and defensive rating. The Wizards have a team total of 112 points, which is 4.1 points below their season average. To make matters worse (at least from a DFS perspective), they come into this game at full strength. I’ll pass.

Orlando Magic (vs. WAS): The Magic aren’t my favorite team to see on the schedule, but they draw the best matchup on the board. On the season, the Wizards are ranked 2nd in pace and 28th in defensive rating. How often do we get a slate where the Magic have the highest team total? The matchup is elite and the Magic are still without Markelle Fultz and Wendell Carter. Franz Wagner (1.05 DK / 1.04 FD) and Paolo Banchero (1.13 DK / 1.11 FD) remain the top targets here, but don’t hesitate to use Cole Anthony in tournaments. He is coming off of a 55 fantasy point outing against the Hornets.
