POINT GUARD
Damian Lillard – $7,600 – Perhaps it’s time to step off the runaway Westbrook train for a while. Westbrook’s price remains steep and he has a tough matchup against the Hawks this evening. Meanwhile, I simply can’t get away from Damian Lillard tonight. Just look at that price tag. He’s priced like a mid-level point guard and gets to face the weak defense of the Magic to boot. Take full advantage of this discount and treat Lillard as a near must-play in your head-to-head games on this Friday slate.
Alexey Shved – $6,600 – You have to think a slowdown is inevitable eventually, and I am somewhat concerned about the heavy volume of minutes Shved has been playing. This is also the tail end of a back-to-back for the Knicks. While these are mild concerns, they are pushed to the backburner based on Shved’s recent production and matchup against the Sixers. He should continue to play well in this one, and his price hasn’t fully adjusted for his recent play. He won’t be this cheap come next week.
SHOOTING GUARD
Dwyane Wade – $7,900 – Dwyane Wade is as healthy as he has been all year, and it’s showing with his recent play on the court. He is leading the playoff charge for Miami, and he has hit 40+ fantasy points in seven of Miami’s last eight games. There’s no reason to think that won’t continue against a fast-paced Denver team in tonight’s game. The Heat are only one game ahead of the ninth place team in the East, and every game matters now. That is worth something as we head into late March, and I expect Wade to be the top scoring shooting guard of the night.
Bradley Beal – $5,800 – You may see that name and simply stop reading, but let me try to make a case for Beal here. The Wizards have stated flatly that he has no minutes restriction whatsoever. They need him to get in rhythm before the playoffs. He played 40 minutes on Wednesday. He gets to face a Clippers team that will be without its best perimeter defender in Matt Barnes. J.J. Redick will spend most of the night guarding him. Beal’s price is under $6,000. The shooting guard position isn’t deep tonight. If those aren’t enough factors to spearhead Beal into a good game, I don’t know how many more times we can take the pain. This is a great spot for him to make up for all the times he has spurned fantasy owners in the past!
