POINT GUARD
Mo Williams, $4,600 vs San Antonio
There was a suggestion that Mo might be moved into the starting lineup, which had me intrigued. Now that news broke of Kevin Martin being out, Williams should be locked into 35ish minutes (along with Corey Brewer). I normally don’t like to roster guys against the Spurs, especially on big slates, but here we are, and Mo looks to be a good bet to hit value this evening.
Aaron Brooks, $3,800 at Portland
This is a classic if/then play. If Derrick Rose and Kirk Heinrich are forced to sit out tonight (both are currently questionable) then Aaron will be asked to run the point for a pile of minutes. Its a west coast game (10:30EST) so we might not have clarity on this until later in the evening. I’d suggest you leave some roster flexibility if you are considering Brooks.
SHOOTING GUARD
Courtney Lee, $4,200 vs Boston
It looks like he is over the flu and will give it a go tonight. I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to do so until he proves otherwise; Lee gives you the unsexiest 20ish fantasy points every night. His game log is super consistent. A matchup against the Celtics is a nice perk, however having Avery Bradley guard you might have expectations tempered a bit. That said, assuming Lee plays without restriction tonight he shouldn’t kill you.
Nick Young, $3,600 at Dallas
It as worked for the Lakers, so why not let Swaggy rub some of his swagginess all over your DFS team tonight? He’s been back for two games and seems to have a well defined role coming off the bench. The Lakers are desperate for another scorer besides Kobe and you don’t have to ask Nick twice to take a shot or ten. He’s played 28 minutes and returned 26 fantasy points in his two games thus far. That easily hits his value point, and oh by the way, this LAL/DAL game has a 216 over/under so you might want to buy some shares of it.
SMALL FORWARD
Corey Brewer, $5,200 at San Antonio
Yep, another T’Wolve, and no, this isn’t Minnesota homer DraftCheat secretly writing this article. Thad Young, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic, and now Kevin Martin are out. That is basically the four top scoring options, so someone will need to step up. I’d expect Corey to play at least 30 minutes, and that is being conservative (assuming the game stays somewhat competitive). He doesn’t really specialize in anything, but he can sprinkle the box score enough to justify his roster spot at this asking price.
P.J. Tucker, $3,600 vs Philadelphia
Pretty much all of the Suns are GPP plays these days. I have a hard time trusting any of them in 50/50 contests as their minutes/fantasy points can be so volatile. At this price Tucker is worth a GPP dart as if you look at his game log you’ll see that he has posted three games of at least 27 points this season.
