POINT GUARD
Rajon Rondo, $8,600 vs Washington
Despite just a seven game slate, there are a ton of PGs to choose from this evening. Since I can get a meaningful discount on Rajon, he is jumping out to me among the elite options. While you were watching football yesterday Rondo messed around and posted a triple-double vs the very same opponent he’ll be facing tonight. Sure, John Wall is an excellent offense talent, but it doesn’t transfer over to the defensive end.
Zach LaVine, $4,700 vs Golden State
Please don’t think this means that I think Zach is better than the likes of Kyle Lowry or Chris Paul, but there is this thing called the salary cap, so here we are. As long as Mo Williams continues to be out and LaVine’s price is down this low, he must be considered. The rookie PG is playing a pile of minutes and he’s doing so quite aggressively as he’s chucked up 27 shots (while dishing out 14 assists) in his last two games. He might very well struggle vs the Warriors, but he’s pretty much locked in for 35 minutes meaning he should build a fairly safe floor.
Other PGs to consider – Chris Paul, John Wall, Darren Collison, Goran Dragic, Kyle Lowry, Stephen Curry, Greivis Vasquez
SHOOTING GUARD
Klay Thompson, $7,100 vs Minnesota
The price break is enough of a difference from Eric Bledsoe to justify selecting Klay over him. Everything is in place for a solid game this evening. The T’Wolves are horrific vs SGs, the game long has been super reliable (no less than 40 DK pts in the last 3 games), and the over/under is massive (214). Roster Michael’s kid with confidence tonight.
Rasual Butler, $3,600 vs Boston
There is some concern here as far as cash games, but its hard to ignore how solid Butler has been of late compounded with his asking price not budging. As a Heat fan I’ve watched him kill it pre-game in regards to make three after three, but his opportunities were limited to flaunt it in game. He’s getting it now and taking full advantage of it (as long as Martell Webster is out). He’s now gone four full games of playing at least 24 minutes and posting at least 27 DK points. I don’t expect him to stay this hot, but at the same time, Boston isn’t the type of team that is likely to cool him off.
Other SGs to consider – Eric Bledsoe, Rodney Stuckey, Jamal Crawford
