Point Guard

Donald Sloan: $4,500 (vs. Utah Jazz) – It wouldn’t surprise anyone if George Hill and C.J. Watson are both ruled out again tonight. If that’s the case, Donald Sloan would draw the start at point guard and see all of the minutes that he can handle. He has really played well over the last two games, averaging 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. As long as he draws the start tonight, he will arguably be the best value play on the board.

Matthew Dellavedova: $3,600 (vs. Philadelphia 76ers) – Dellevedova will draw the start at point guard tonight with Kyrie Irving sidelined. Dion Waiters will likely spend some time at point as well, but Delly will likely be asked to play 30+ minutes against the Sixers tonight. He is close to min-salary on FanDuel and only needs around 20 fantasy points to reach value. With an increased role in the offense, he’s certainly capable of that tonight against the Sixers, who have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to point guards this season.

Shooting Guard

Dion Waiters: $5,400 (vs. Philadelphia 76ers) – If there was ever a time for Waiters to crack the starting lineup, this would be it. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are both out tonight. Even if Waiters is forced to come off the bench, he’ll likely still play 30+ minutes in this one. Plus, he will have an increased usage rate while on the floor. Not only will his role in the offense expand tonight, but he also draws a very favorable matchup. The Sixers have allowed the third most fantasy points to shooting guards this season.

Wayne Ellington: $3,700 (vs. Portland Trail Blazers) – With Kobe Bryant ruled out for tonight’s game against the Blazers, Ellington should draw another start at shooting guard. In three starts this season, he has averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. A similar outing tonight would make him easily reach value at his price point. Ellington would also see a small boost if Wesley Johnson is unable to suit up tonight.
