POINT GUARD
The LA point guard is as good a bet as anyone to be the top fantasy point contributor this evening. Paul has put up at least 41 DK pts in 9 of his last 10 games (and no less than 52 in five of his last ten). Needless to say, CP3 has done an excellent job stepping up in the absence of Blake Griffin, by increasing his usage. I don’t expect an up-tempo game vs. the T’Wolves to slow down CP3’s momentum, thus making him a cash game foundation piece tonight.
Greivis Vasquez, $4,200 at Philadelphia
As of this writing, it looks like (starting point guard) Kyle Lowry will sit out tonight. If this is the case, Vasquez should draw the start vs. the putrid 76ers. A similar scenario played out last game and Greivis satisfied his owners by putting up 27.25 DK points vs the Knicks. The key here of course is that he is priced like a guy that averages 22 minutes off the bench, while a start tonight would likely lead to 30ish or so. Oh, and its a plus matchup vs. Philly. To put this simply, if Lowry sits, Vasquez makes a sweet value tonight.
SHOOTING GUARD
Dwyane Wade, $6,900 vs Phoenix
He is currently questionable, but you know that teammate Goran Dragic is going to do his best to dress tonight vs. his former teammates. If The Dragon is unable to go, I’d love Wade, as he’d see a significant usage boost, but even if Goran is a go, Wade is in a nice spot to succeed. The veteran Miami SG will play way up in pace vs. the Suns, while his asking price has tumbled below 7K. He’s scored at least 26 DK points in his last six efforts, which is a reasonable floor expectation (with a 40+ pt ceiling). On the other side, the more expensive Eric Bledsoe would be well positioned for a bounce back game, as he might have to go 40 minutes if the dinged Brandon Knight is unable to go tonight.
Jamal Crawford, $5,500 at Minnesota
For a player that is scoring reliant and comes off the bench, Jamal Crawford is shockingly consistent. He’s scored no less than 20 DK points in his last ten games, and it’s hard to see him flopping vs Minnesota. An up-tempo game vs. a team that is vulnerable to SGs caters to the chucker that is Crawford. Making him more intriguing, it appears that Matt Barnes (currently doubtful) will be unable to go tonight.
