NBA Expert Picks Preview: Monday, March 30th

Bargain Bin Ballers isn’t your typical Value Plays column. These are extremely low-dollar options, with the potential to hit, that could make-or-break your evening. Each week, our top-ranked experts, dig deep to find these plays which help you win your GPP, and sometimes, if a low-variance option sprouts up, even your head-to-head. Bargain Bin Ballers only includes players in the following price tiers:

POINT GUARD
Jordan Clarkson -$5,600 or Dennis Schroder – $5,600 – At this stage of the year, it all comes down to injury news. If Jeremy Lin sits tonight, Clarkson is a fine option as he will be pressed into 40+ minutes again. He’s also been playing very well. If Jeff Teague sits tonight, Schroder is a fine option as he too will be pressed into heavy minutes. I know these guys are both $100 over the price cutoff, but I’ll cheat here. If the opportunity presents itself, both have the potential to be the top dollar-for-dollar scorers at the point guard position.
Greivis Vasquez – $4,600 – Kyle Lowry is listed as out for tonight’s game, so it’s nice to have some concrete injury news at this stage of the day. Vasquez is a prime value option at point guard as he should start and play heavy minutes once again. He also gets a boost as Houston will be without Patrick Beverley, so the defensive matchup is much less imposing now than it would have been.
SHOOTING GUARD
Lou Williams – $4,900 – With Kyle Lowry ruled out, Lou Williams also gets a bump for the Raptors this evening. He has been consistent with Lowry out of commission, playing around 30 minutes a night and putting up 20+ DraftKings points. Williams is not my favorite option because of his tendency to be scoring-dependent, but he does draw a good matchup in what should be one of the highest scoring games of the night.
Arron Afflalo – $4,300 – After recommending Afflalo for a few games, I jumped off the bandwagon on Saturday, and of course he went on to have his best game in weeks. He is another play that is scoring-dependent, but he can put up a 30 spot if his shot is falling. He’s going to get 30-35 minutes and will be playing in an up-tempo contest against the Suns. There is plenty of risk involved, but Afflalo has nice upside here for tournaments.
