Author Disclaimer: Please remember, these picks are not necessarily safe for your 50/50-H2H games. They are intended to separate yourself from the herd in an attempt to be contrarian and different. The most logical outcomes don’t always play out on a given NBA slate, so we are looking for the guys that may surprise, that few will roster.

Point Guard
Stephen Curry: $9,800 (vs. Chicago Bulls) – Curry is one of my favorite tournament targets when he has a less than appealing matchup. He is as close to matchup-proof as they come and he is often overlooked when he faces a quality opponent. His percentage of ownership should be fairly low tonight, even though he has 60 fantasy point upside every time that he takes the floor. Don’t be scared of the matchup against Derrick Rose, as Curry has had some of his best outings against other top notch point guards.
D.J. Augustin: $6,000 (vs. Cleveland Cavaliers) – Augustin’s percentage of ownership will be high tonight, but his chances of reaching and exceeding value are too high to fade him. He played extremely well in his first start as the team’s main point guard, finishing the game with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Augustin has been very productive when given the chance and will see plenty of opportunity with Brandon Jennings out for the season. He is one of the top plays at point guard in all league formats.
Shooting Guard
DeMar DeRozan: $6,800 (vs. Indiana Pacers) – DeRozan finally broke out of his slump the other night, posting 42 fantasy points against the Pistons. His price is very affordable at $6,800, which gives us an opportunity to buy low on the prolific scorer. His matchup against the Pacers isn’t ideal, but at his price point, he only needs to score 34 fantasy points to meet value expectations. He’s capable of that and more.
Brad Beal: $6,000 (vs. Washington Wizards) – Beal has struggled with consistency this season, but his high ceiling makes him one of the top tournament plays at shooting guard tonight. He draws an extremely favorable matchup against the Lakers, who have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to shooting guards this season. It also helps that we have a small six-game slate with limited options at the position.
