POINT GUARD
Kemba Walker – $8,600 – The Hornets are going to be extremely short-handed this evening with Al Jefferson sidelined. With Lance Stephenson still out as well, it should be the Kemba Walker show in this game. He played 49 minutes in the overtime win on Monday, and the defense of Patrick Beverley is a concern, but the usage is simply going to be too high to ignore. Russell Westbrook’s price is through the roof and Kevin Durant is expected to return tonight, so pivot down to Walker and take the savings to spend elsewhere.
Brandon Knight – $6,700 – Brandon Knight is one of few safe bets for minutes in Milwaukee, and he has a plus matchup tonight against the weak defense of Kyrie Irving. This game should be played at a relatively fast pace, and this $6,700 price tag is one of the lowest I have seen for Knight all season. He’s a solid, safe play for your head-to-head contests on this New Year’s Eve.
SHOOTING GUARD
Eric Bledsoe – $8,200 – His rising price tag has made it hard to stomach rostering him on a lot of nights, but Bledsoe is still much more affordable on FanDuel than he is on DraftKings. In what should be a fast-paced, high-scoring game, this profiles as one that Bledsoe should find some success in. There is some concern of a blowout here, but that’s hard to predict on a night with just four games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – $6,500 – Giannis reminded us all of his massive upside in the last game, and if he starts shooting the ball more, the sky is the limit. He is the other Bucks player outside of Knight that should be locked into a heavy dose of minutes, and I would not hesitate to play both of them on a short slate. Antetokounmpo can contribute in every peripheral category, and he should play well against a suddenly porous Cavs defense.
SMALL FORWARD
