Detroit at Sacramento
Detroit
The Pistons are playing at a quick pace (96) and are the 11th highest scoring team in the league. They have a fantastic matchup against the Kings who have been awful defensively. The problem is that the Pistons have too many good players fighting over the same statistics. I think there is value in Andre Drummond on a few sites and Josh Smith makes a nice GPP play.
Players to Target
- Brandon Jennings – Jennings is probably the only Pistons player that I will be using in cash games tonight. Jennings is the PG of this team so even if his offensive game isn’t clicking, he should pick up some assists. The Kings have been awful against PG’s ranking 25th and Jennings should have his way with this defense.
Sacramento
The Kings have really slowed things down over the past few games. They now rank in the bottom 10 in the league in both pace of play and points scored per game. The Kings are full of inconsistent fantasy players that are more GPP plays than cash game plays. Even though Ben McLemore started last game, he did next to nothing with his playing time. Until I see more out of him, I’d rather use some of the other value plays mentioned. DeMarcus Cousins is a candidate for a GPP play, but is a bit too risky for me to trust him in my cash games.
Players to Target
- Isaiah Thomas – Thomas has been the only consistent fantasy option on the Kings this season. He’s averaging close to 30 minutes off of the bench and has played well at home. I like his matchup against the second unit of the Pistons.
