L.A. Clippers

Tonight marks the end of a grueling seven game road trip with a holiday in the middle of it for the Clippers. Their only loss of the trip so far came against the NBA leading 14-2 Grizzlies. Chris Paul has looked very aggressive and Blake Griffin is even starting to produce. Matt Barnes returned to the starting lineup last night after missing the previous two games with a calf injury. Jamal Crawford has been good whether he’s in the starting lineup or in the sixth man role that he’s known for. DeAndre Jordan has struggled to score, but almost never falls below double digit rebounds.

Secondary Plays

Chris Paul — I like taking point guards against the Jazz, and Paul’s play lately has resulted in me targeting him a bit. He’s looking to post up weaker guards on the left block and run pick and rolls with Griffin — both of which usually result in points. Pairing Paul with Griffin with the assumption that they will hook up on a bunch of pick and rolls is the line of thinking that could win you a GPP if that’s how it plays out on the court.

Utah

The Jazz have lost four games in a row now and enter tonight’s game as significant underdogs against the Clippers. Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors have played well in spurts, but don’t have the consistency to be guys that you target regularly. Their slow pace doesn’t equate to their roster being very full of fantasy relevant players. If I had to choose one team to avoid tonight, it would be between the Jazz slightly edging out the Bucks, and I can’t see using players from either team in cash games tonight.

Secondary Plays

Gordon Hayward — The Clippers struggle most against small forwards and Hayward’s price on both DK and FD warrant considering him for GPP’s. Hayward has reached 6x value based on his current DK price four times in his last ten games with three of those reaching 7x.

On the business side he worked with several startup operators in direct competition with FanDuel and DraftKings. Jeff brought a player’s perspective to the product side of things and was innovative with new features that you see the bigger sites now implementing today.

Content has always been a passion for him, so the opportunity to write for RotoGrinders early in his career was something to jump at. Jeff hosted popular shows for MLB, NBA, and NFL content and often focused on teaching a contrarian approach long before it was cool to do so.

Jeff’s run as a player has been capped off by what many refer to as the best year in DFS tournament history. A baseball live final win (DK), a football Million dollar score, and 2 2nd place finishes in FD live finals.
