Three Game Shootout

We’ve only got three games on the schedule for Monday, making it a high-variance shootout. I usually try to avoid days like today (Thursdays), because your edge can often be reduced to a point where I don’t feel comfortable that the rake is beatable. However, FSL is kind enough to offer some rake-free $1.00 games (and some of the lowest rake games in the industry), so I made my way over there to get some fun low-stakes lineups in to start the week off. Here’s a detailed injury breakdown of each of the six teams competing today:
Charlotte Bobcats – Nazr Mohammed and Gerald Wallace are both still out, allowing Nazr Mohammed and Gerald Henderson to start in their places. While Kwame Brown has low upside (15.7 F-ppg over last 7), Henderson is a strong value pick (22 F-ppg over last 7 days). DJ Augustin is still a bit inconsistent despite the coaching change and expectations, and SJax will continue to dominate minutes and shots.
Memphis Grizzlies – No real news here. Xavier Henry is out. Rudy Gay continues to be an elite option, and Z-Bo has been en fuego as of late.
Houston Rockets – Aaron Brooks is day-to-day. Lowry has been bad lately, so the PG situation is one to avoid in Houston. If Brooks plays, he could make a cheap gamble pick if you’re feeling frisky. Yao and Chuck Hayes leave the frontcourt pretty wide open for the Rockets, but Brad Miller and Jordan Hill have been unable to consistently produce. Miller is worth a gamble pick, but not much more.
Boston Celtics – KG actually could return Monday, and makes an interesting pick for PF at 31 points. If he’s out, I like Glen Davis to get it going against the Centerless Rockets, and even if KG is back his minutes could be limited.
Detroit Pistons – Greg Munroe has had back-to-back 30-plus point games now, and he will be the surefire sleeper pick today amongst a lot of Grinders. Detroit is rumored to be involved in the three-way trade with ‘Melo, but there’s no noteworthy injuries to discuss. It looks like Stuckey is finally back to starting after being eased back from injury, making him a decent value pick. Surprisingly, T-Mac got 37 minutes off the bench, his most of the season, making both interesting picks.
Chicago Bulls – Noah is still out leaving the Kurt Thomas/Taj Gibson rotation in full effect. I wouldn’t touch either, but for what it’s worth, Taj had 18 f-ppg to Kurt’s 14 last time the Bulls played Detroit without Noah. Rose and Boozer continue to be elite plays.
