Best NBA Player Props for Friday, October 23rd
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 PM ET on Friday, October 23rd:
- Josh Giddey Over/Under 7.5 Rebounds
- Lauri Markkanen Over/Under 6.5 Rebounds
- Stephen Curry Over/Under 26.5 Points
Josh Giddey UNDER 7.5 Rebounds (-135, BetMGM)
Giddey had 7 rebounds and a team-high 13 rebound chances on opening night against the Raptors, but it remains to be seen if that level of production continues, given his health.
Giddey suffered a wrist injury during the preseason, which he indicated he will “have to play through” during the 2026-27 campaign.
If he’s even slightly less aggressive on the glass this year, he could have a difficult time replicating his 8.3 rebounds per game from a season ago. ScoresAndOdds has him projected for 6.9 rebounds on Friday.
Lauri Markkanen OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-125, BetMGM)
Markkanen had 9 rebounds and 15 rebound chances in Utah’s season opener against Memphis.
Markkanen has averaged 7.5+ rebounds per game in four separate seasons since being drafted No. 7 overall in 2017 by the Bulls. Jaxson Hayes is another big body in the starting lineup for Utah, but Hayes has never averaged more than 20 minutes per game in any of his seven NBA seasons. Jaren Jackson Jr. is 6 foot and 10 inches but has never averaged more than 6.8 rebounds per game.
Markkanen should have a prominent role on the glass for the Jazz this year. ScoresAndOdds has him projected for 8.2 rebounds on Friday.
Stephen Curry UNDER 26.5 Points (-120, bet365)
Curry missed considerable time last season with a knee injury and tweaked his ankle during this year’s preseason. He scored 23 points in 21 minutes in Golden State’s season opener against a defensively-challenged Lakers backcourt, but bettors shouldn’t expect that level of efficiency from him on a regular basis.
Curry averaged 26.6 points per game last year but averaged only 20.3 points in 4 games in April after returning from his knee injury. He played a career-low 30.9 minutes per game last season and could have his minutes further monitored this season at 38 years old.
ScoresAndOdds has him projected for 25.4 points on Friday.
