The NBA Cup begins tonight as part of a 10-game slate to begin the weekend. The first action of the evening is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET with the Hornets taking on the Wizards.
The NBA injury report continues to be a major pain point for teams and for bettors. Paolo Banchero, Jalen Duren, Alperen Sengun, Ivica Zubac, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, and Kawhi Leonard are among the notable names who have already been ruled out for Friday.
As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Best NBA Player Props for Friday, October 30th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Friday, October 30th:
- Franz Wagner Over/Under 22.5 Points
- Cameron Johnson Over/Under 11.5 Points
- Keaton Wagler Over/Under 2.5 Assists
Franz Wagner UNDER 22.5 Points (-110, bet365)
I’m going back to the well on a play that cashed easily for us earlier this week.
Wagner has developed into a valued all-around contributor for the Magic since he was drafted No. 8 overall in 2021, but we have repeatedly seen that he’s better as a Robin than a Batman in the team’s offense.
This past Wednesday against the Raptors, Wagner was asked to play a focal role in the team’s offense – he had 7 turnovers and shot 4-of-11 from the field. He’s a combined 13-of-34 shooting since Paolo Banchero last played on October 23.
Wagner attempts roughly half of his shots from inside the paint, which is an area of the floor Toronto defends well. This is a tough matchup for him once again.
Cameron Johnson UNDER 11.5 Points (-111, BetMGM)
Johnson hasn’t played since October 22 due to an ankle injury. Counting the preseason, he hasn’t played more than 25 minutes in any game this season, and it’s possible he doesn’t even see that much court time tonight given that he played only 11 minutes before getting hurt in the team’s regular season opener.
This is simply a bet against Johnson being at full strength on Friday. ScoresAndOdds has Johnson projected for 10.4 points.
Keaton Wagler OVER 2.5 Assists (-148, DraftKings)
Wagler is averaging 3.5 assists through 4 games this season for the Clippers, and only once in that span has he not cleared this number.
Wagler has posted 6, 5, 6, and 4 potential assists, averaging 26.5 minutes per game. The Timberwolves have been a league-average matchup for guards and forwards early this season, which makes this a playable number for Wagler as he continues to fill up the stat sheet for the Clippers.
