Friday’s NBA slate features 12 games, highlighted by a doubleheader on Prime Video, beginning with the Lakers against the Celtics at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by the Mavericks against the Thunder.

As always, make sure to keep an eye on the NBA injury report ahead of tip-off. LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and Evan Mobley are among the most impactful names who are currently listed as questionable or doubtful for this evening’s action.

Bettors and DFS players can leverage the absence of key players with tools like RotoGrinders CourtIQ to search for market inefficiencies on nights like these.

Best NBA Player Props for Friday, December 5th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Friday, December 5th:

Deandre Ayton OVER 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110, BetMGM)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBETMGM

Ayton attempts nearly all of his shots from the paint or restricted area, making this a non-ideal matchup for him against a Boston team that defends that area of the floor well. Still, it’s difficult to overlook the volume he’s had this season when Luka Doncic and LeBron James are both inactive.

In 4 such games, he’s taken 15+ shots on 3 occasions and only once played fewer than 35 minutes. He’s had at least 8 rebounds and 2 assists in each of those games.

According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Ayton is averaging 19.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per 30 minutes this year with Doncic and James off of the floor. Even if Ayton isn’t hyper-efficient this evening, he should have a chance to score 16 points.

Jared McCain OVER 9.5 Points (-118, BetMGM)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBETMGM

McCain has played at least 25 minutes in each of the last 4 games that the 76ers have been without Joel Embiid. In those games, he’s scored 15, 15, 20, and 14 points. He’s taken at least 11 shots in each of those contests as well.

McCain can score from different areas of the floor, but he tends to take a lot of his shots from above the break, which is an area that Milwaukee has struggled to defend this season. Assuming McCain sees 25+ minutes again this evening, he should have enough volume to justify the risk.

Scottie Barnes OVER 13.5 Rebounds + Assists (+104, FanDuel)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONFANDUEL

Barnes has cleared this number in 5 of 6 games with RJ Barrett out of the lineup this season. According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Barnes is averaging 10.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per 36 minutes with Barrett off of the floor.

During their last 8 games, the Hornets rank 23rd in rebounds allowed per game to forwards and 26th in assists allowed per game to forwards. This is a good matchup for Barnes at a line he’s been routinely exceeding. At plus money, there is value on the over.
