NBA Player Props Today – Friday, January 24, 2025
- Desmond Bane Over/Under 20.5 Points
- Donovan Mitchell Over/Under 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Scoot Henderson Over/Under 4.5 Assists
Desmond Bane OVER 20.5 Points (-108, FanDuel)
Ja Morant missed shootaround earlier today, which means he’s likely closer to doubtful than questionable ahead of tip-off this evening. This season, Desmond Bane has scored 21+ points in 8 of 13 games in which Morant hasn’t played, including each of the last 6 such contests. According to CourtIQ, Bane is averaging 21.7 points per 36 minutes this season with Morant off of the floor. He’s been even better since the beginning of December, averaging 23.9 points per 36 minutes in those situations. This is good value if Morant ends up on the sidelines on Friday.
Donovan Mitchell OVER 34.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120, DraftKings)
Evan Mobley has been ruled out once again on Friday for the Cavaliers, which should continue to lead to significant volume on the offensive end of the floor for Donovan Mitchell. This season, Mitchell has scored 33+ points in 3 of the 5 games in which Mobley has been unavailable. He’s taken at least 21 field goal attempts in all but one of those contests. Mitchell also has 8+ rebound chances and 8+ potential assists in all but one of those games.
According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Mitchell is averaging 25.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per 36 minutes this year with Mobley off of the floor. Philadelphia ranks 30th in defensive rating, allowing 124.3 points per 100 possessions since Joel Embiid last played on January 4. Mitchell and his teammates should face little resistance as they look to get back in the win column.
Scoot Henderson OVER 4.5 Assists (-130, BetMGM)
Since Christmas, Scoot Henderson is averaging 6.0 assists and 10.5 potential assists across 15 games, both of which lead the Trail Blazers. During that span, Henderson has seen his assists numbers regress on the road, averaging only 4.7 assists and 8.0 potential assists in 7 road contests, but he has a good matchup tonight, facing a Charlotte defense that has allowed the 6th-most assists per game to opposing guards across their last 8 trips to the hardwood. This is a playable number for Portland’s top facilitator.
