Monday’s 8-game NBA slate features 3 games on Peacock! The action begins with the Knicks against the Pistons at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by the Nuggets against the 76ers, and ending with the Warriors against the Clippers.

Per usual, there are a number of notable names on the NBA injury report. Jalen Duren, Trae Young, Alperen Sengun, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Josh Hart have each been ruled out. James Harden and Steven Adams are questionable as of this writing.

As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Monday, January 5th!

Best NBA Player Props for Monday, January 5th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Monday, January 5th:

Paul Reed OVER 20.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-120, BetMGM)

In 4 games without Jalen Duren available this season, Reed has played at least 25 minutes three times. The only exception came on November 29 against the Heat – a game in which Reed still managed 13 points and 10 rebounds in only 19 minutes.

According to our RotoGrinders CourtIQ tool, Reed is averaging 12.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per 24 minutes with Duren off of the floor this season – 23.5 points + rebounds + assists. If he’s around that workload tonight, he should have a good chance to clear this number against a New York team that ranks 25th in defensive rating and 8th in pace since Josh Hart last played.

Stephen Curry UNDER 27.5 Points (-116, DraftKings)

This season, Curry has cleared this number in fewer than half of his road contests. Last year, he cleared this number in only 14 of 41 road contests.

The Clippers aren’t a great defensive team, but neither are they as bad as we saw on Saturday when they allowed 146 points to the Celtics. Even counting that game, the Clippers rank 11th in defensive rating across their last 8 games. During that span, they have also played at the slowest pace in the league.

Curry would likely need to have an extremely efficient night shooting the basketball to clear this number, especially with how many free throws the Clippers have been permitting of late.

Vit Krejci OVER 8.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)

Krejci has routinely been playing north of 25 minutes lately, which has afforded him plenty of volume from the field. He averaged 11 points per game in December and has been effective on the offensive end of the floor early in 2026 too.

In his last 5 games with Kristaps Porzingis and without Trae Young, Krejci hasn’t taken fewer than 7 shots from the field. If he sees that type of volume this evening, he should be able to flirt with double digits in scoring once again.
