NBA Player Props Today – Monday, March 3, 2025
- LaMelo Ball Over/Under 23.5 Points
- Tyrese Maxey Over/Under 29.5 Points
- Jaren Jackson Over/Under 22.5 Points
LaMelo Ball OVER 23.5 Points (-120, DraftKings)
Ball averaged only 14.8 points per game in February and had only 20 points in his first action to begin March, but he’s likely due for some positive regression sooner than later. Since the beginning of February, Ball has shot 40% or worse from the field in 5 of his last 6 contests. Ball is not the most efficient player in the NBA, but he’s still a 42.3% career shooter and is better than his recent results.
Even including his recent cold stretch, Ball is averaging 26.1 points per game this season. Golden State has been one of the better defensive teams in the NBA since acquiring Jimmy Butler, but they have still been vulnerable against athletic guards – allowing 38 points to Damian Lillard and 42 points to Kyrie Irving as two examples. Ball could have a strong showing this evening.
Tyrese Maxey UNDER 29.5 Points (-110, BetMGM)
Even without Deandre Ayton, Portland has remained one of the better defensive teams in the NBA, allowing the 5th-fewest points per 100 possessions across their last 7 games. Maxey has been highly erratic of late, alternating 30+ point games with games of 16 points or fewer since February 20.
Notably, he has attempted 14 shots or fewer in 4 of his last 6 games and now has a podcast-less Paul George seemingly willing to show up as a quality contributor on a nightly basis as well. Maxey is one of the most gifted offensive players in the league, but this is simply too high of a number, given the matchup and his recent lack of consistency.
Jaren Jackson OVER 22.5 Points (-120, bet365)
Jackson is coming off of one of his best games of the season, scoring 42 points on Saturday against the Spurs. Since the All-Star Break, Jackson leads Memphis with 24.0 points per game and is only narrowly behind Ja Morant for the team lead in field goal attempts in that span.
Since trading Deandre Hunter, Atlanta ranks 22nd in defensive rating and has allowed some big scoring performances to opposing forwards. If Morant ends up sitting out tonight’s contest (currently listed as questionable), Jackson could see even more volume in this matchup. Either way, he should have every opportunity to get the job done here.
